hello,

does anyone know which propagation model is the most appropriate for implementing urban and highway scenarios? i read that two-ray ground model is good for both.

thanks

Hi Giota,

For highway, you may be ok with two-ray ground for pathloss, but you have to consider doppler shift and other fast fading effects due to high speeds.
For urban, you have to consider the Line-of-Sight, ie. buildings, as well as fast fading, shadowing etc.

You can look at different propagation model in the Deliverable from WINNER-II project here http://www.ist-winner.org/WINNER2-Deliverables/D1.1.2v1.1.pdf
For implementations of these propagation models (WINNER-II) in NS-3 you can look at the iTETRIS code http://www.ict-itetris.eu/
