As there is NO documentation regarding the general outline for implementing a routing protocol, I have understood it should be done as follows with the help of this group. Yet I have doubts regarding it and am stuck most of the times. Kindly do suggest which is the proper procedure, Thank you all.

Step 1: Read the documentation

Step 2: Create a new module

Step 3: Simulate the scenario/environment 

Step 4: Adding new routing metrics by adding the parameters and determining the value of it

Step 5: Modifying the routing protocol by adding the functions and its execution

Step 6: Writing the test case
