Hi,

I have two questions regarding the LTE LENA:

What kind of shape for eNodeB is supported in LTE LENA, hexagon or circle? How to define the parameters for this setting? Is each eNodeB a cell or it may have 3 cells like hexagonal coverage?

Since LTE LENA does not support handover, what happens if a user keeps moving and go very far from the eNodeB? Does the throughput go down to 0 and no signal at all?

Thanks a lot.

circular cells for my experiences

sinr becomes too much and no transmission are made

you can do a simple try. install and enb in 0,0,0 with no mobility model
attach a single ue with constant velocity mobility model e place in 0,0,0 too
make the node move in one direction with 3kmph for example
collect and plot sinr data as the distance increases

also sector antennas are supported, see example:
lena-rem-sector-antenna.cc

I confirm this behavior.

Hi Luca,

I am trying to implement an example like you have described before, but I don't know how to get the SINR info from received packets. Could you give me some advice or example code please? It would be awesome,

Thanks a lot,

Alex

circular cells for my experiences

also sector antennas are supported, see example:
lena-rem-sector-antenna.cc

also note that the example lena-dual-stripe implements an hexagonal cell layout with 3 sectors per site.
