Hello Everyone,
nice to meet you all,
would you like to share with me  about advantages and disadvantages of NS-3?
because in here, there are many developers form the other country and background,
I really thankfully if anyone can share with me because its one of the thing which I must describe at my thesis,

Hi,

There is a performance comparison paper of different network simulators (ns-3 one of them) available here http://ds.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/publications/2009/pdfs/icc-submission.pdf

NS-3 is better compared to the others with respect to memory usage and quite fast in computation time.

Regards,
Konstantinos

Hello,

in fact, it is up to you. In my case, I was going to work on wireless mesh networks and NS-3 has built-in 802.11s implementation and this was a huge advantage for NS-3 over other simulators. I think you should compare simulators according to your needs.

Hi Mert Buram,
I am using NS-3 for mpls network in IPTV technology,
could you give me the advantages of ns-3 in that case?
thats my thesis

I am a newbie too. There are experts around here. It's better you post your question as a topic or google it like "ns-3 mpls".

In my case, I googled something like "ns-3 mesh" or "ns-3 802.11s" which is IEEE standard (it is actually a draft now) I've been working on, I found some research efforts in this field which are in form of academic papers and I ended up having guidance of those papers.

Sorry for my incapability of answering your question. Good luck for your work.
