How can I convert a NS3 code based on 4G LTE architecture into 5G architecture?Is there an simple method?

Dear all,

I am trying to develop a 5G network based optimal routing scenario. How can I convert available ns3 codes based on 4G LTE architecture to 5G network architecture in NS3.

Why don't you use MmWave module and build your 5G network architecture?

Thanks for your reply. I did not know about that module. where can you find the module and how can you use it? I recently started using NS3 and I do not have enough knowledge of it.

Hi Selematsela,

I am having issues with the installation. After running this command - patch -p1 -N -E -i patch-for-lte.diff, it returns an error message about trying to locate the file to patch.

Closely related to the mmWave module (in fact a fork of it, by the LTE maintainers) is the NR module

That has an example designed to toggle between the original 4G LTE module in the ns-3 release and 5G NR. It's pretty easy to compare the two to see exactly what has to change in your setup:
