Hello all,
As an initial foray into docker-based container development, I've created an ubuntu 20.04 LTS based ns3 container for 3.36.1. It can be found here.

I'll soon create a GitHub repository to put the `Dockerfile` for folks to edit/use.

I do not expect networking capabilities to work as-is when operating inside the container. But, happy to accept feedback, troubleshoot, and improve upon it.

Hi
I am working now with docker containers and NS3, but there is a problem with NS-3 tap-bridge module. the network will work with just one hop, if you have a solution for this I would be appreciated it.

Kind regards

thank you for an overview of your setup. I've not experimented w/ tap-bridge yet. But, it would be good to see if you are able to identify the issue.

The project is now also on GitHub (w/ Dockerfile) - for anyone to modify.

Hi  Maulik

Many thanks for your reply, I thought you connect ns3 node to docker container.  while you run ns3 in docker container.

Hi  Vadim
Many thanks for sharing the presentation, in your case,  you use just two containers. am I correct?
in my case, each node has a container and tap device (these nodes are MANET) so the multihop does not work here. if you have any suggestions they would be appreciated

Kind regards

How many containers do you have ?? be careful with the scalability in real-time simulations.
You can also try to use FdNetDevice and configure routing properly on EACH container and MANET node..
