How to link external lib?

Hi,all:
  I am trying to use external polarssl in LTE module to do some test. For I am a newbee to Ns3, i searched and viewed a lot of post here related to linking external lib.
  Thanks to a lot ot guys whoes post help me a lot, but some more clarification is still needed in my understanding.

  However, besides solution how to link a external lib, can Laurynas or Andrew B kindly give out some more solution that how to link a non-standard libpath(such as linking external lib is in /usr/local/temp/lib ) in our wscript?

 However,  can author kindly give out a completely wscript example in order to let newbee quickly know where to add the extension in wscript.

What's more, it worked when linking external shared lib in module using solution by Laurynas or Andrew B, but some failure is occured when linking static lib(i.e. *.a suffix)
The build error message includes:
....recomplie using -fPIC
....
 
If it is my misunderstanding, please kindly let me know as well, thanks.
