Is there any tutorial / link / reference from which I can learn about RTP simulation ..

Hi,

please explain a bit better what do you mean. RTP is not (yet) supported in ns-3 natively. You want to use RTP traffic though some other means (e.g., DCE) or to develop the RTP protocol ?
Moreover, RTP simulations... what kind of RTP simulation ? I could point you to some RTP traffic generators (basically SIP phones), but I guess that it's not what you meant.
As a consequence, mind to explain ?
And mind to not force people to write a reply message (asking for a more detailed description) that is FOUR TIMES the length of your request ?

Thanks,

T.

Tommaso Sir ,
First of all I would like to regret for my previous message which forced you to waste your time.
Secondly I was trying to simulate Real-time Transport Protocol (RTTP , or RTP), with the intention to study the video teleconference applications over IEEE 802.11 wifi adhoc networks.

Ok, that's more precise.

I'd strongly suggest to use a "normal" RTP system (a real one) with a quality evaluation measurement (the one you like more).
then you can connect the VLC client and server through ns-3 by using FdNetDevices.

I don't have any tutorial ready, but if you search on the Internet you'll find for sure. The only things I'd recommend are:
1) Pay attention to the network layout (routing in particular),
2) Use a PC with at least 2 physical interfaces it will save a lot of troubles.

Good luck,

T.

Tomasso
        Sir
I am just a newbie here, So can you please be more specific with
"normal" RTP system (a real one) .. and evaluation measurement ..

I have made a simulation looks like following .

n0 <-------------> n1

I installed both UdpTraceClient and PacketSink on no and n1, in order to create a conference like environment, I measured the throughput with flowmonitor..

Can it be used as a video conferencing system ? and can the flow monitor be used as a "evaluation measurement" for the "normal RTP system"..

May I suggest to study the literature a bit ?
As an example (the first one I found), check this:

Cheers,

T.
