Hi,

I could not find any documentation for 802.11n in the release 3-18. Are there any such resources?  I found couple of examples showing the frame aggregation.
Does the 802.11n implementation  support multiple antennas?

Thanks,

Aly

Hi Aly,

I am not expert with wifi module, however, I believe it has MIMO but not full support.
You may check ht-capabilities.cc it has the function "SetSupportedChannelWidth" which can set the channel width to c1,c2,c3,c4. Which means it has the following configurations 1=1,2=2,3=3,4=4.

Dear Experts, please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Abdulaziz,

I don't think 802.11n  in NS3 has MIMO support in PHY layer.  There are parameters like to turn on stbc or change the number of the transmit and receive antennas but they are redundant.  I used the  ht-wifi-network.cc to test it.
For example, I changed  the number of the  receive and transmit antennas which is a parameter of YansWiFiChannel but I did not notice any difference in rate.
Also, the 802.11n does not support the rate adaptation algorithm. When I use the AARF I am getting zero throughput. Instead if I use the constant rate manager, I am getting reasonable results.  Other users may have noticed it too.
The parameter you suggested to change is related to bandwidth only. It is not related to MIMO.

Thanks,
Aly
