clustering in ns3

Hello Folks,

I'm wonderning if NS3 have already a module of clusternig or implement a clusternig protocol for MANets such as CBRP, i searched in doxygen but there is no matches, i want to make sure that it is possible to simulate clustering with ns3, please help me

Hi,

There is no clustering module included in the main NS-3 tree, but you can find implementation of clustering algorithms for NS-3.

One was presented during WNS3-2015 (http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2756520) with the code being available here (https://git.scanlab.gr/lkatsikas/v2v)

Dear Suhail,

There is no shortcut for this.

If you  want to implement this you need to code it. 

Basically, you need to check some of the post in the mailing list to make protocols, 

check the code for the existing ones and if its an existing protocol check a paper or an RFC to see the technical details and interpret them into ns-3 code.

You can check the papers of DSR, DSDV, the one konstantinos suggested, You can check this one http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7537016/

(disclaimer, the last link is the implementation of the protocol I did. You can have an idea with the explanations in the paper)

first things first. Read carefully the posting guidelines and follow the suggestions therein.

Also, don't expect that the code developed for old ns-3 releases can work flawlessly on the latest one, you'll have to fix it (most probably).

You will need to fist understand how this clustering algorithm works, study the code, and then introduce the required changes to use the energy metric as clustering.

Since this code is not part of the main ns-3 codebase, we can not provide such support. Please contact the code developers/maintainers.
