Query about NS3 and Virtual machines

I am wondering that does NS3 simulator support the interface with virtual machines? (i.e. can I install Ns3 simulator on a physical machine and take the results of another software process that is installed on a virtual machine?).

short answer: yes.

Long answer: check the details of FdNetDevice capabilities and real-time emulation.

thanks for your reply. now I am facing problems in installation of NS3 3.20. I use ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS 32 bit. is it compatible or not? which version of ns3 is more stable and easy to install? do you any step by step guide for ns3 installation?

Hi,

please use the latest release (3.21, with 3.22 soon to arrive). You can find more than detailed instructions on the ns-3 website.

Read the tutorial, it will guide you also through the installation process.

About the best system, Ubuntu is ok, but I'd use the 64 bit version.

Ask the group, it's the best way to receive answers. Asking someone directly may incur in delays and so on. You know... we have a real work beside the forums :P
