Hello, 

I hope everyone is doing well...I'm know in ns3 end i'm trying to execute the emulation example called  fd-emu-onoff.cc, i follow the steps as mentioned in the script and while executing it i ha

I hope everyone is doing well...I'm new in ns3 and i'm trying to execute the emulation example called  fd-emu-onoff.cc, i follow the steps as mentioned in the script and while executing it i had an error in both laptops :

since i just installed NS3  i'm very much new on it i couldn't understand the error.... if you can guide me to understand how to solve this error please

Hi, two (common) mistakes are:
  • Launch the script without sudo (to use emu you need to be superuser). This might be fixed by configuring ns-3 with "--enable-sudo".
  • Mismatch in the device name. The script by default searches for "eth0", but in your computer the network interface might have a different name. Use "ip add show" to see the interface name (for example, on my computer it's named "enp5s0").
