Hi group,

I'm doing a project based on practical sensor deployment, so the distance between nodes will probably influence the transmission delay and etc. I'm wondering whether NS-3 is possible to set different delay/speed for different links (e.g. corresponding the distance between two nodes) and whether I could introduce the "distance" when configuring the topology.

I have tried to look for the examples inside NS-3, but I failed. I'll appreciate it if there is any suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the mobility model will help you in setting the nodes position, but the delay between them will hardly change. Consider that the electromagnetic waves propagate at the speed of light, and for practical distances the link delay doesn't change much.
