Dear ns-3-users,

We have updated the ns-3-users mailing list by enabling several features of the google groups.
Some of these features should be visible only on users accessing the list from the web-interface (google groups), and not from their email client.

The features available to ALL users include:
  • Tags: Each post can/should be tagged with couple of tags (max 14) that characterise the post. These could include name of the module, ns-3 release, or other general mark. At the moment the tags are not restricted to a list, but if we think that they are misused or do not help, they might be a restricted list from which you should pick. Using tags should be useful when searching for similar posts.
  • Code HighlightingThis allows users to identify sections of content (when posting) as 'code'. These sections will be displayed in a fixed width font and have key words highlighted. Example:
    This is a code sample;

  • Marking Favourite posts: User can mark a post for a topic they started and any other user's post (that read and thought it was valuable) as a favourite/useful reply. Most useful replies will be placed on top of the thread, so it will be easier to find the reply that solved the problem.

Furthermore, several other features are enabled for moderators of the list, such as making announcements (example this post), and placing important/useful posts as sticky so that they have higher visibility.

Please do not abuse these features.

Regards,
Konstantinos
