Hi
I am very new to the Ns 3 enviroment and for that matter to the
Network Simulation software. I was wondering if there is already an
inbuilt model for 3G systems. I know Ns3 has an integrated model for
LTE and maybe 3.5G . Another question is , is it possible to back
track or probably switch off some features or reconfigure in LTE so as
to make it similar to 3G or UMTS systems.

Since LTE and UMTS have both PHY and MAC layers different you cannot modify LTE for making it more similar to UMTS.
In my opinion you have to rewrite the whole module.
