I skied Old Turnpike from the access for the Activities Barn, went up to Bald Knob, backtracked then did Jungle Trail down and back up yesterday pm. The snow was slow but didn't stick to the skis. It was below freezing the whole time.--On Tue, Mar 13, 2018 at 9:38 AM, Clay Nichols <mran...@gmail.com> wrote:Just checking to see if anyone has been up there.--Clay

Clay and all:
Had a great short ski this morning on the War Branch trail. I was going to ski on the road past the UVa station, but it was too icy, so I drove to the War Spur loop parking area. I have 4WD and would not have driven otherwise. I skied 1.3 miles out to where the trail becomes too steep and rocky and walked the remaining .2 miles to the AT, then returned. I started skiing at 8 am and the conditions were great, other than some rocks in a few places. Conditions should still be good late this afternoon but especially tomorrow morning. Regretfully I can’t go tomorrow morning. Pete
