Snow and road to Mt Lake?

I just called Mountain Lake Lodge. 
They said the roads are passable but not ideal. Taking two to three times longer to get up they said. 

The snow is crusty. Hotel worker said she had to stomp her away through ice to get to her car. 

If you've been up there let us know what it's like.

I bet the best skiing will be a week from now when things soften up, unfortunately. I tried Mid-County Park yesterday hoping that it would be softer under the trees. It wasn't- but thankfully my first timer friend hasn't sworn off a second time!

I skied at the High School in Elliston.
Very crusty.

I just got metal edged backcountry skies. So it was doable, but not a lot of fun, especially on anything remotely steep.
