Monarchs

As my  husband and I sat on our front porch this evening we noticed Monarchs flying overhead. We had been noticing them for several weeks, a few each day. Tonight we counted about 91 in around 30 minutes!  They were all flying roughly from the northeast to the southwest, sometimes singly, sometimes in groups of two or three. We were happy to see so many since we had not seen any caterpillars this summer.

They are migrating south, low because the south winds are blowing.  If it was a good north wind, they would be so high you couldn't see them.  The migration has hit Texas already.

Great news Carol!!  I've only seen a couple in the yard here....one this morning.  I'm so glad to hear of such large numbers!
