Hi All

Although the Rules for Foot-up Trials are well published some grey areas need to be clarified.

Herewith a draft to be corrected, added to, and commented on.
I was unable to open Andre' Lategan's draft  ( Please Andre' add your comments )
 


Penalty Faults
• Footing once .....................................................................……………………………………………………………………….. 1 point
• Footing twice ........................................................................……………………………………………………………………...2 points
• Footing more than twice ......................................................……………………………………………………………………...3 points
• Footing and then sliding your foot to better you position……………………………………………………………….. 1 +1… 2 points
• Leaning against an obstacle with any part of the body ( helmet, arm, shoulder, torso, hip, leg and upper part of boot )….1 point


Failures
• Rolling back while footing….................................…………..5 points  ( do we allow any rolling back ????? )
• Crossing or breaking a boundary .........................................5 points ( including missing a gate ????? )
• Staling engine, with support ..................................................5 points
• Handlebars touches the ground ............................................5 points
• Both hands not on handlebars while footing…………….…..5 points
• Dismounting ...........................................................................5 points
• Crossing tracks with both wheels (complete loop)………….5 points      
• Receiving outside assistance in a section ..............................5 points  
• The rider changes the severity of a section ..........................5 points
• Missed sections ......................................................................10 points



Rider Ethic
• No arguing with or swearing at Observers  ( should you have an objection, note it with the observer and report it to the COC )
• Maintain the sequence of sections from your starting section.  ( no jumping sections ) 
• No observing for the Observer.
• Riders shall at all times consider the time flow of the event when walking sections.
• Riders shall clear sections on command. 



Observers
• Observers shall apply the same rules and standards to all classes. 
• Observers shall at all times ensure that they are in a position to observe the entire section.
• Observers shall with a clear hand signal indicate to the rider when he/she is clear to start the section.  ( the whistles work well especially to clear sections ) 
• Observers shall with a clear hand signal indicate the score attained by the rider on exiting the section.
