Accepting the Certainty of Uncertainty
7:00 - 8:30 pm, Thu Jan. 13, 2011, Trustees Room
Abstract: The only thing we know for certain about the future is that
it is unpredictable. No one is truly certain what the future holds for
each of us. For every bell curve, there are outliers. So while most
plans are based on averages - average performance, assumed interest
rate, average tax rate, average health and life span - what happens
if you fall at an extreme? Retirement planning designed to achieve its
goals must face risks beyond performance, addressing the certainty of
uncertainty. This seminar will identify some common uncertainties in
retirement planning as well as possible strategies for addressing
them. Mr. Zielonka will be happy to take questions after his talk,
however, you should consult your own tax, legal and financial advisor
for further advice before taking any action.
