Hi! I'm just getting started with the NRF24 library, so I thought I'd hook up a module and try it out.  I chose the nrf24_test sketch, wired up my module, and the serial monitor said "start" every 5 seconds... apparent success!

However, when I completely unplugged the module from my Arduino UNO, the sketch still ran the same way -- it didn't display any of the error messages in the nrf24_test sketch.  I'd expect to see some errors if the device was missing! Am I doing something wrong or what? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Hello,

Did you get any other messages from the sketch during the setup().
For example I would have expected to see NRF24 init failed during setup()

Cheers.

Yeah, I'd have expected that too... but it just says "start" every 5 seconds. I added some additional
Serial.println lines at the beginning and end of setup(), and those appear, so the code *is* actually
running.  I just ran the test again on an UNO R3 with nothing attached to it and it still doesn't report
any errors.

Weird! Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi,

Hmmm, looking at the code, it did not detect that case at all :-(

New version 1.12 just uploaded now correctly returns status from init()
Thanks for reporting this.
Cheers.

Mike - just downloaded and installed 1.12 and am now getting the expected
error messages from the test sample.  Thanks for such a quick fix! Now I'm
off to try to connect the thing and see if I *can* get it to work!
