Info on the Mass. Comprehensive Energy Plan (CEP) - comment period ends July 31. If you didn’t make it to one of the stakeholder meetings, they have provided a link to their presentation slides on the Synapse study on which the final CEP will be based.
The stakeholder meetings were held to get input on the study before the results are finalized. Though the good news is none of the scenarios set in the study show a need for new pipeline capacity (and show a decrease in fossil fuels overall), the scenarios - even the one termed “aggressive” - are somewhat tepid and all include an amorphous “other” category of “renewables" that includes burning of biomass and solid waste.

| Massachusetts Comprehensive Energy Plan Stakeholder Written Comment
DOER hosted several stakeholder meetings throughout the Commonwealth during the week of July 16th to introduce the scope of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Energy Plan, the drivers and assumptions of various energy scenarios, and initial modeling results. We received initial feedback at these meetings and are now collecting written feedback.
Please submit your written comments via this survey link - written comments are due July 31, 2018. Questions focus on: - The thermal, transportation, and power sectors;
- The drivers and inputs into the modeling assumptions; and
- The challenges and possible policy pathways for achieving our future energy goals.
