Apologies for cross-posting -- the defense of the Renewable Portfolio Standard concerns all of us who fight for clean energy and environmental protections on many fronts.  See below regarding DOER hearings and the organizers' sign-up form! Please forward to appropriate allies/lists.

Subject: Organizing for Next Week's DOER Hearings on RPS - All Hands on Deck!

Calling all clean energy and environmental advocates!

The Baker Administration is proposing sweeping changes to the Renewable Portfolio Standard to roll back our hard-won rules on biomass energy that protect forests and restrict carbon pollution from wood-burning power plants. They’re even increasing subsidies for garbage incinerators. We all need to speak up!

Please let us know if you can attend one or more of the public hearings to speak out against the Department of Energy Resources’ proposed rules.

The hearings will be:

  • Monday, 5/13 in Boston
  • Thursday, 5/16 in Amherst
  • Friday, 5/17 in Gardner
  • Wednesday, 5/29 in Springfield (just announced today)

If you plan to attend please fill out this form ASAP to assist our organizing efforts. We'll provide background and talking points for those who need them.

More information is available here and we will be posting detailed talking points soon.

Thank you!
