Delayed Garbage Pick-Up for District 4

Greetings District 4 residents:
I am sending this message to apologize for any trash pick-up delay that has happened in the last week or two. As you may have already heard, the City of Atlanta’s Public Works Department is facing a staffing shortage and they are currently in the process of hiring additional sanitation workers.
As your Councilmember, I have been as frustrated and upset as all of my constituents, because my garbage was not picked up until late Friday evening of last week. I have registered my anger and frustration with Commissioner Richard Mendoza, who heads the Public Works Department and I have also been in touch with the Mayor’s Office to express my frustrations. I have talked to them both about the phone calls that I have received from many of you.
Now I need your help. Commissioner Mendoza has informed me that I can give out his direct cell phone number to my constituents so that he may hear from you directly if services are not back on schedule this week. I encourage you to make him your first call this week if garbage collection for your street is not back on schedule at 404-308-7311. You can also email Commissioner Mendoza at rmen...@atlantaga.gov. Following your phone call to Commissioner Mendoza, you can also continue to call my office as well with your concerns so that I can relay your concerns to the Commissioner too.
Again, I apologize for any delay with your trash pick-up and thank you for the patience you have shown in working with us in getting this issue resolved.
