Some folks have asked how they can contribute to the NPPES modernization effort.  Code contributions are very welcome.  Please contact me if interested in sharpening your skills by working on any of the following tasks.

1. Improve UI for the Main Enumeration Edit Scree

url = /enumerations/edit/[enumeration_id]

Task: Rework this page to ensure all information is displayed in a user friendly. Ensure the record's state is clear and it is visually easy to see what information is still needed as well as what is required and what is optional. Maintain section 508 compliance or create a secondary corresponding section 508 complaint interface.

2. Improve UI for the main Home Screen (when logged in)

url = /

Task: Add pagination to the list of enumeration under management. Improve button task layout aesthetic creating a user friendly UI. Maintain section 508 compliance or create a secondary corresponding section 508 complaint interface.

3. Event Email Notification System will send PDF Attachments

url = N/A

Task: The system currently has a model called “Events” that control emails sent upon activation, reactivation, and so on. The Events model is defined in the “enumerations” app. Currently messages are very generic. We want create a PDF attachment, with CMS letterhead. of event notifications and attach this to outbound emails. The goal is to reduce the need for mailed notifications.

Alan,

I have you on Skype, no number though.  I am still interested in contributing on number 3 and taking a look at the new API.  I have been interrogating various 3rd party DSP's in this regard over the past three months so it is insanely relevant.

Hi Ron:

Sorry for the delay. The project's code is transition in-house to a contractor within the next couple of weeks so no outside help will be possible going forward.

Thanks for you interest in helping out.

All the Best,

Alan
