One of the remaining safety improvements was to upgrade the main entry
gate to be a double-entry area to avoid dogs sneaking out of the open
gate - a standard at many dog parks. This project has been approved
and will be moving forward very soon!

However, due to disabled access and other various requirements, this
is unfortunately a $2,600 effort. If you would like to donate to help
fund this project, now would be a great time to make a tax-deductible
contribution!

Lighting is still being discussed, but of course won't be cheap.
Although we are looking at a solar-powered option.

I applaud the improvements made to the park and thank all of those who have contributed to its success.   As a dog lover, I am happy for those who can use the area freely without concern. I only regret that I and others have failed to raise reasonable awareness as to the wisdom of setting aside a small area in the park for smaller dogs prone to injury or even death purely because of their size and NO other reason.   Regretfully,  I and many others with smaller dogs remain unable to feel safe using the park and therefore do not simply because we have heard first hand accounts, witnessed and/or experienced incidents where such injury and death have occurred.  I post these comments honestly and thoughtfully without rancor.  Accordingly, I hope that those few who responded so unfeelingly and with anger to my initial request some months ago for a segregated area where owners would have the option to risk or not risk any dangers.  While I still think it to be a reasonable approach to protect us all, I respect that for now, the majority appear to have spoken against that request.

If anybody can make a year-end tax-deductible donation to support this
cost, please donate online or send a check.

Happy Holidays! Looking forward to some great holiday sweaters... If
anybody ends up with a good picture (and your dog doesn't look
tortured to be dressed up), send it over and we'll post it.
