Yes, we saw the article and were very pleased and happy for those of
you who have worked so hard to make the park what it has become. On
behalf of all dog owners, we thank and applaud you and your
dedication.
Try as many of us did to gain support and understanding from all dog owners
of the inherent dangers of not providing an optional and smaller play
area for smaller dogs, we instead fostered some belief that we were
somehow blaming larger dogs and their owners for the past injuries and
deaths of smaller pets which was hardly the intention. In hindsight, I
wish we had used the comparison of letting a toddler play tackle
football on the same field as high school age children many times
their size are playing. We can only hope that at some future time
those who misunderstood or simply disagreed with us will understand we
were merely asking for the option of giving our smaller dogs a play
area that would minimize risks without significant sacrifice in either
the play time or space the bigger dogs need to run, play and socialize.
All our best,
Bill & Bob
