Please find the North Plainfield Calendar of Meetings for the week
commencing with Monday, 12 October 2020. As you will note, our offices will
be closed on Monday the 12th, the traditional Columbus Day. Also take note
of the cancelled Council Meeting on Tuesday the 13th. This cancellation is
in relation to a series of virtual meetings on Zoom which the Borough
Council will be conducting through the end of calendar year 2020. All of
you on this list already received a meeting notice early today outlining the
meetings of the North Plainfield Borough Council for the balance of the
year. Zoom details for each of these meetings will be made available
through the Borough website.

commencing with Monday, 26 October 2020.

Please note that as we move into the festive season initiated by Halloween
(celebrated on October 31st, a week from tomorrow, Saturday the 24th),
details on the calendar provide trick-or-treating times which will be
observed here in North Plainfield as well as a reminder that Standard Time
resumes on Halloween weekend. So, we will be on Standard time as of Sunday,
November 1st.

As it is nationwide, Tuesday the 2nd is General Election Day. Polling
places in North Plainfield will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. For
the many who have received and completed your mail-in-ballots, they can be
brought to your polling place, or to the Somerset County Ballot Dropbox at
the Community Center just behind the Vermeule Mansion at 614 Greenbrook
Road. The dropbox is accessible 'round the clock, is barrier-free and
well-lit. You will find convenient free parking nearby. Plus, it is under
constant police surveillance via a closed circuit TV camera. Ballots
deposited there are being collected daily by Somerset County and taken
directly to Somerville for counting. These ballots do not pass through the
US Mail. If you did not receive or lost your mail-in-ballot, please go to
your assigned polling place and request a provisional ballot - a paper
ballot that will be counted with all others received by the County.
