The updated Student Edition process now leverages Altair One and uses a streamlined process to provide you with the free Altair Student Edition. Altair One is the one-and-only place to download all Altair Software, access the Altair community, learning resources, support, and much more!

NOTE: If instead of the license activation key a "pending verification" message appears, please wait 2-3 business days and check your email to be notified when your credentials are verified. Once the verification is complete you can go back and finish this step.

HyperWorks Student Edition 2022 - For HyperWorks 2022 to be activated with the student license the version of Almutil GUI required is 15.0.0 available here - _15.0.0_win64_x64.zip after downloading and extracting this Almutil GUI, run Almutil GUI and enter the key in the activation tab similar to step 4, right click and copy the path that appears in blue

A Dialog will open in HyperWorks 2022 where in the license file path you need to navigate to the license location mentioned in blue in the activation tab and select the license file as explained below.

Paste the copied link in the window that pops up on clicking the folder icon as indicated in red above, choose all files and then select the .lic file in that location, then click open, then click activate to activate the product.

AI Studio - If using AI Studio separately and not after installing any other product like Altair Inspire beforehand, you will need the Almutil GUI, download Amutil GUI from the below links for the concerned OS

To expose the .altair_licensing folder you may need to right click in the users/your name/ folder and show hidden, once at the exact path select the file that will be named your license key.lic for example LKPO1-POWS2-UY76W-WEQ2.lic and then click on "Save & Connect"

With an Academic License, your professor can give their students access without requiring a school-issued email address.

Luca Sutton and his suspension team optimized 5 parts on their Shell Eco-Marathon vehicle, reducing the entire suspension weight by an unbelievable 41% using Altair Inspire. Take a look at their video and it is clear why they took home the $7,500 Grand Prize. Congrats to Luca and the whole TUfast team!

Luca and the team will be honored at a ceremony, later on in the summer at TU Munich, check back in August for some pictures and videos of that event and keep your eyes open for upcoming, future Altair Global Student Challenges.

We are pleased to highlight an exceptional entry from Nguyen Huu Nghia of Vietnam. Among the few participants who carefully read the rules and submitted unique entries in multiple months, Nguyen stood out for his continuous improvement. His experience with Altair Inspire, enhanced video-making skills, and dedication to hard work led to increasingly impressive submissions. Although Nguyen won first prize in June 2023, he elevated his efforts with a new project in March 2024. Despite narrowly missing the top prize that month, Nguyen set a new standard for improvement. It is our pleasure to present his video submission and recognize Nguyen as the Most Improved Entry Award.

All of the many outstanding entries this past year deserve recognition, but this one stood out for special mention because of the age of the submitter. We proudly honor Luc Krotwaar from the Netherlands with the Youngest Entrant Recognition Award. At only 13 years old, Luc demonstrated remarkable engineering skills and creativity. Using Altair Inspire Optimization, he designed a lightweight, strong, and visually impressive key rack, which he 3D printed and showcased in action. Think back to what you were doing with your spare time when you were 13. For most Topology Optimization probably didn't make the list of activities. This kid is undoubtedly of a special caliber.

Hundreds of students from 18 countries around the world entered optimization projects into our contest and 36 of them became Altair Optimization Rockstars. Watch a quick run-through of them in the video.

Altair Student Edition is currently available at no cost to all enrolled College of Engineering students. It is based on HyperWorks Desktop, which is an integrated user environment for modeling and visualization.

Sixty college students participated in the event, and each team presented their achievements. Activities included product introductions to Altair's simulation, data analytics, and HPC solutions and other internship-related events. Following this, the gold medal winner of the Altair Optimization Contest, the first-place winner of the Altair Optimization Design Award in the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, the best participants of the Altair RapidMiner Supporters, and the best clubs of the Altair Club Support Program presented their achievements.

Following the presentations, Altair held various programs to facilitate friendship and networking opportunities among students. "In an era where expansion and convergence between technologies are emerging, we prepared this event so students could experience technologies such as simulation, AI and HPC" said Doha Kim, deputy vice president, Altair Korea. "In 2024, we will continue to support Korean students to grow into self-directed innovators for their future development."

Gimnasio Altair de Cartagena and Carolina University have established a partnership agreement to provide a pathway for academically gifted Gimnasio Altair de Cartagena students and their families to afford an outstanding education at a reputable University in the United States. The ASME Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D (IAM3D) Challenge is designed to give mechanical and multi-disciplinary undergraduate students around the world an opportunity to re-engineer existing products or create new designs.
