The NIRWA Young Women’s Professional Leadership and Mentoring Training Program will select up to 15 young women to participate in the program.
Following the workshop, the selected young women will be encouraged to participate in a range of exciting policy and leadership projects in Australia. These will be determined according to the participants interests, as well as the current political climate. All projects will focus on issues pertinent to immigrant and refugee women living within Australia.
These young women will work with female mentors, who will guide them through the process and provide them with the appropriate supervision and support. The mentors assigned for this program are women with a long history of working with human rights, women’s issues and multicultural issues.
The first meeting between mentors and mentees will be facilitated by the NIRWA Program Manager.
The young women in this program are expected to participate in the Workshop running from the 29th June-1st July and be flexible and willing to either meet their mentors in person or to communicate through Skype/MSN Messenger, and on the phone.
