Dearest Women,
A big hello to you all! To those of you back at uni, thank deregulation for your trimester system, for those of you making it through re O-Weeks, remember that students on exchange can make excellent members too!
I hope everyone enjoyed their break. I was excited to see more women attending Education Conference than they have in past years. For those of you who attended QC or NOWSA as well I hope you have had time to recover from two conferences in a row!
Sadly, there is no rest for the wicked or the feminist activists, and so we must jump into Blue Stockings ‘week’ (fortnight) for 2012. This is likely to be an exciting and engaging week and a great opportunity to have your collective or network engage with the wider university community and movement on campus. Talk to the NTEU on your campus. If you haven’t yet been contacted or can’t contact the NTEU rep on your campus let me know and I’ll help you get into contact. Either send me an email at wom...@nus.asn.au or 0403 9869 10.
SO! What I need from you is a summary of what events you plan to do on your campus. We’ve got a section on the NUS women’s blog at nuswomens.wordpress.com devoted to the events going on in each state. This means that new people can get involved from your campus.
I need these summary of events by Friday the 20th of July if you want them on the website.
ALSO! We are relaunching the Talk About It survey mid August and I really, really, really want to make a video to go with the launch. People really like to share them and so it would be so good if you could get some people to take pictures with signs saying ‘It’s Time’ and ‘Talk About It’. On A3 pieces of white paper with black texta. I need these by Friday also! Please, please, please do this task so we can make our video look really interesting and involved. ONLY WOMEN PLEASE! However you want to identify that one. No Cis-Men for certain though.
Even if all you do is take pictures of YOURSELF in the mirror I’ll still be happy.
SO! Good luck with the next couple of weeks, please get me some photos and details of your events and I’ll talk to you all soon!
As always, any concerns, clarification etc. don’t hesitate to get in touch.
In Sisterhood,
Noni
