Hello NOWSA Women,

How are you all going? I hope that 2012 is finding you happy, healthy and fired up for the year ahead.

I think i’ve met most of you before, but to introduce or reintroduce myself I’m Noni Sproule, the new NUS National Women’s Officer for 2012.

This year should be an exciting one for Women’s departments and women’s activism on campus. I hope that your departments have seen or will see some improvement from the extra money collected through the SSAF. I hope to see every campus collective/network involved in one or more of the NUS women’s campaigns running throughout this year. Most if not all of the campaigns will have a lot of room for your own spin on them.

The first campaign I need your help with is the Safety on Campus video. The instructions and a use of image waiver are attached to this email. I made a rough version which received a lot of positive feedback on the weekend. You can view it here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150583653401672

The Safety Campaign, as well as a campaign seeking to have women reengage with Feminism called ‘I’m not a feminist, but #thenewfword’  will be the major Semester one campaigns. Materials will be available for both by O weeks.

Feel free to contact me with any concerns, questions or just for a chat. My email and phone number are at the end of this email. If you want to be removed from this list or want the emails of campus activists added please shoot me an email.

I look forward to meeting you all during the year,

In Sisterhood,

Noni
