Out in a far-Eastern exurb of Cleveland, rjs lives a quiet life and rarely speaks about levy. He made an exception for this article. “levy was hard enough for those who knew him to understand, let alone the public," he said. "One thing some people didn’t understand was that everything he said was in metaphor, such as, ‘I’m going to leave Cleveland. I’m going to Israel.’ And people would laugh at him, saying, ‘You’ll never leave Cleveland. And what would you do in Israel anyhow?’ Well, Cleveland was a metaphor for his own mind. Israel was ‘Is-real,’ in other words, not the country, but the place where things are real.
