The ballet is based on the much-loved fairy tale, thought to have originated in the 16th century. Sleeping Beauty tells of a princess who is cursed to sleep for 100 years, with only a prince's kiss able to wake her.
Tchaikovsky's adaptation of the ballet makes Princess Aurora the titular beauty, with the evil Fairy Carabosse administering the slumbering curse over her and the entire kingdom. Only the lips of Prince Leo (originally Prince Dsir) can break the spell...
Across a 35-year career, Bourne has developed a reputation for producing innovative, modernised versions of classic ballets such as Nutcracker!, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, as well as original adaptations including Edward Scissorhands, The Red Shoes, Dorian Gray and The Car Man (based on Georges Bizet's opera Carmen).
You can watch Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty for FREE in the UK on the BBC iPlayer streaming service. But don't worry if you're on holiday while it's on because you can watch Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty on iPlayer from anywhere with a VPN.
As its dance-theatre company New Adventures puts it, Sleeping Beauty is a "wondrous world of magical fairies and vampires, where the timeless tale of good vs evil is turned upside-down, creating a supernatural love story that even the passage of time cannot hinder. Will Princess Aurora ever find her true love again?".
But if you want some magical Matthew Bourne ballet to watch, the free ABC iview streaming service has his Swan Lake, Nutcracker! and The Red Shoes to stream at your leisure. All you need to do to watch is register with your name, date of birth and postcode.
Normally a streaming service will know where you are trying to tune in from and block you if you're not in the right country but a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is an app that hides your location. That means you can access your usual sports and entertainment services even while you're traveling abroad.
It's straightforward and easy to use, has great security, is available on loads of streaming devices and, best of all, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can try it out 100% risk-free.

How important is your supply chain?
Supply chain is a key part of the general supply chain to the final customer. It is a part of the fulfilment. If procurement and logistics do a bad job, then they destroy value. So go back to the basics. Every Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager has to make sure that the basic functions of his department work like a Swiss clock.
People make the difference
If supply management really grasps the business model of the company, then they will develop a pro-active attitude. They go a step further in the development of procurement and logistics. They no longer destroy value due to the fact that they do a bad job, but they create value with suppliers and other stakeholders.
Where is the sleeping beauty?
The management of a company is concerned with the major focus of the business: clients. It is true that sales are the engine of the company, and other functions should follow. Next in line of the focus is the staff and the organization. If they're unhappy, you cannot serve the customers. These focus areas take a lot of energy, and no more focus is left for the sleeping beauty of supply chain. Global management steps in the booby-trap of self-fulfilling prophecy. By giving no attention to supply chain, it is never empowered to step-up. As a consequence the staff of supply chain are doing 'just' their job.
Remains she beautiful when she awakes?
When management invests in attracting temporary and internal competences, then she will assess the leverage of the supply chain on the bottom line results. Supply chain is nowadays your best investment and has prompt results. Suppliers and stakeholders can finally unlock the full potential of Innovation and eliminating unnecessary transaction costs.
Are you aware of your idle-cost?
Doing nothing seems safe, but costs you an enormous hidden potential. Perhaps your competitor is smarter? Don't believe the idea that supply chain is strategic. Push the buyers to new limits so that finally will help your organization and your customers. If you leave the supply chain function just to the buyers, then nothing will happen. They were not trained to do shake the business.
Low-hanging fruit ?
If you're looking for the low-hanging fruit, then think first of the ground fruit. Some apples are just fallen from the tree; the only thing you have to do is spend your management time and energy in it. After a while you will pick yourself, together with the buyers, the low-hanging fruit. Some suppliers are of course wanting to help you. They understand your business needs.
The next layer above the low-hanging fruit is the bulk of apples. Juicy and fresh. To get there, you need a ladder. This ladder is temporary experienced professional help to help you to move up. Some predict even golden apples, but in my opinion they are rare and are hanging so high that the cost of effort is too high.
