There is a problem with ThermaCAM Researcher 2.10 which displays a Failed to create camera control component error message if you have installed the program for Firewire cameras on Windows 7. Some Microsoft Visual Studio redistribution files are missing in the installation.

1. Download and double-click the enclosed *.exe file.
2. Start the command window by typing cmd in the Run dialog box.
3. Use the DOS cd command to navigate to the folder where the camera control component is installed by typing the following string in the command window:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\FLIR Systems\ThermaCAM Researcher Pro 2.10\Binaries
4. In the command window, issue the command REGSVR32 CAMCTRL.OCX. This should bring up a message indicating success.

Changes and new features of ThermaCAM Researcher 2.10 include improved bonjour scanning, new zoom and pan tool buttons, plot value storage in session files, support forFLIR GF Series IR image, JPEG storage with an IR scale, camera control of Auto-NUC and Auto-adjust to cover just the zoomed area of an image. In addition the new software revision now provides FLIR SC6X0 windowing and 120 Hz support, full support for FLIR SC305, SC325, SC645 and SC655 (windowing and full speed) and support for Windows 7.

Materials and methods: One hundred drilling osteotomies were performed in bovine and porcine bones. Sets of 2 osteotomy sites were created in 5 bone densities using 2 types of drilling protocols. Thermographic pictures were captured throughout all drilling procedures and analyzed using ThermaCAM Researcher Professional 2.10. Torque values were determined during drilling by measuring electrical input and drill speed.

For the thermographic assessment of lower limbs, the thermal imaging camera FLIR T335 (FLIR Systems, Wilsonville, OR, USA) was used. Curves were analyzed using ThermaCAM Researcher Pro 2.10 software. The device had the following parameters:

Spastic paresis of a lower extremity, as suggested by other researchers, may result not only in gait disorders and difficulties in mobility, but may worsen levels of physical activity and functional ability [2, 3]. The aim of the study performed by Tao et al. was to establish whether a low-dose botulinum toxin A injected into the muscles of the shank in patients after cerebral stroke would improve gait and daily living activities by decreasing spasticity [22]. The control group from that study received a placebo. The study showed a significant relationship between the decrease in spasticity as measured with MAS and the level of gait improvement and functional independence with the reduced activation of muscles.

Many researchers report that the outcomes of conducted therapy are independent of age and sex [24,25,26]. The results of the present study confirm this observation. Statistical analysis revealed that variables such as sex and age did not significantly differentiate the study group.
