Manga is a style of comic books and graphic novels from Japan or influenced by Japanese-style comics. The cover is often colorful and vibrant, while the pages are black and white. While manga covers as many genres as traditional Western novels, some of the most popular manga take place in fantastical realms or a supernaturally altered real world. They often feature a large cast of dynamic characters with robust backstories, lengthy battle scenes that can span entire volumes, over-the-top magic and superpowers and villains who are just as compelling as the heroes.
If you're new to manga, you might be wondering what the difference is between manga and anime. Anime is a style of hand-drawn animation originating from Japan, often filled with colorful graphics and an action-packed plot. Most popular manga series have been adapted into anime series, such as My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and One Piece. Both manga and anime are available in a wide range of genres. Popular genres include fantasy, adventure, horror, romance, thriller and mystery.
Manga, manhwa and manhua all present stories in a similar visual style, but manga originates in Japan, manhwa in South Korea, and manhua in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. While each of the three runs the gamut across genres and categories, there are subtle differences in each, such as the artistic style of manga favoring bigger eyes to better accentuate emotion, as opposed to manwha and manhua staying truer to anatomically correct characters. Manga reads right to left, Manhwa reads left to right, and manhua varies by location.
Hajime no Ippo, or "The First Step" in English, is a boxing manga series written and illustrated by George Morikawa. The series began in October 1989 and continues to appear in Weekly Shōnen Magazine as of mid-2020. Since first being published, Hajime no Ippo has amassed 1,300 chapters, which have been collected into 128 tankōbon volumes.
The story of Hajime no Ippo centers around a high school student named Makunouchi Ippo, as he launches his career in boxing. Over the course of his career, he manages to rack up numerous titles as he makes his way through the ranks, defeating numerous opponents along the way.
Like many successful manga series, Hajime no Ippo was developed into an anime adaptation, which ran from October 2000 to March 2002. It concluded after 76 episodes were made, as well as a television film and OAV, which were released in 2003.
Hajime no Ippo is one of the best-selling manga of all time, and by November 2019, more than 96 million copies had been sold. Hajime no Ippo won the 15th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 1991, and it continues to dominate as one of Weekly Shōnen Magazine's most beloved series.
Kodansha's K manga service announced on Tuesday that it has added George Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo boxing manga under the title Hajime no Ippo: Fighting Spirit! The first 87 chapters (or 10 volumes) of the manga are available, and new chapters will launch every week. This is the first official English release available in the West for the long-running manga.
The manga inspired a television anime adaptation in 2000, followed by the Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger sequel in 2009 and the Hajime no Ippo Rising sequel in 2013. The series also inspired the Hajime no Ippo - Champion Road special and the Hajime no Ippo - Mashiba vs. Kimura original video anime in 2003. Geneon Entertainment released the first television anime season on DVD in North America with the title Fighting Spirit before the company ceased operations in 2007.

Date noticed Ippo was about to use the liver blow and blockws his right side, however it turned out to be a feint.
Kamogawa worked as a prizefighter in Japan shortly after the end of World War II. He has had multiple boxing matches with former prizefighter Nekota Ginpachi, two of which he lost, two of which he won, and another that ended a draw.
In the seventh round, Takamura and Eagle immediately enter the centre of the ring and enter a exchange match with neither afraid of hitting the cuts above their eye. Takamura fought back in a hitting match. While imagining Kamogawa holding his mitts up for Takamura to hit, Takamura landed combinations on Eagle until he went down.
Ippo was the first manga I read in years. I was in a small break(maybe a year) from reading mangas and after that I discovered ippo and got really hooked up.
