Hi Team

I am trying to connect ubuntu machine from windows 10 Machine. Here are the details:

Ubuntu Machine: This machine works as a remote having NoVNC client + websockify proxy + VNC Server (Tight VNC)

Windows Machine: This machine works as a client having  NoVNC client + websockify proxy + VNC Server (Tight VNC)

I am not able to access the ubuntu machine over the internet. Am I missing anything here. The idea here is to access different windows/Mac/Ubuntu Machine using NoVNC client over the internet

Thanks & Regards

Hi,
What's the reason you have all those things on your windows machine?
You wrote that you intend to use the windows machine as a client?

You should not have noVNC, websockify or a VNC Server on your client
machine. If you set these things up properly on your remote you will
simply access it using a browser on your client.

noVNC doesn't impose any unique requirements regarding connecting
locally vs over the internet. If your remote machine is reachable from
the outside you should be fine.

Regards,

Hi

Actually, I am trying to connect windows to Ubuntu machine and then Ubuntu machine to windows totally for testing purposes both way if at least one of them works. To check if the working of VNC client.

As when I went through some of the group chats. In most of them, it is mentioned NoVNC is just a client that required a browser and the remote machine must be having a WebSocket with a VNC server.

In the end, I want to access multiple machines from my main machine or a server probably. Can you guide me on what should I do step by step or any reference? It would a great help.

FYI: I am able to establish a loopback connection within the same machine.

Thanks

Ok.

No, I'll only be able to help with regards to noVNC and Websockify.
Your network and machine setup is not something I will be able to help
with.

The first step would be to ensure that your machines can reach
each other. Once that is working you should be able to use noVNC.

Yes, the setup is done. I related the things wrongly. Please correct the following statement:

VNC is just a web client that can be used to remote access desktop and the remote desktop should have websockify running to convert traffic from one port to VNC server port

Thanks

Sounds about right. Websockify converts TCP data to WebSocket data
which noVNC needs.
