Hey,

I'd like to connect to a remote Mac I have from my company's Windows computer, which I don't have admin rights on. I can install software by asking for permission, but it's more convenient to just whip open a browser and connect immediately.

I went to this website on my company computer: https://novnc.com/noVNC/vnc.html.

I click "Connect" and it says: "Failed to connect to server" immediately.

I didn't even enter any connection information or anything.

Is this a bug or is this that my company's WiFi network is blocking stuff like this in their network, like with firewalls and so on?

Thanks very much,
Julius

Hi Julius,
That novnc.com demo requires a websocket proxy to be set up somewhere
else, and that proxy has to target your VNC server.

In the advanced settings in the side menu you can find the websocket
settings. There is no websocket proxy set up for novnc.com, so it won't
work without modified settings.

It's possible that once you have everything set up properly your
company's infrastructure might still cause issues.

Best regards,
