no, there is no chance of getting a valid serial for 8.5, "At the
current time Acresso has disabled registration for 8 and 8.5 versions

OK, I am new to adminStudio, and apparently chose an unstable time to
start working with the product. I have version 9 installed and licensed
as the zenworks edition. I can confirm that Installation Monitoring is
not an option. i.e. I am not licensed for it. I/we are also apparently
not licensed for remote repackager ? Did the feature exist in the past?
Currently I have my personal workstation licensed and it sure would be
nice to launch the repackager remotely from a 'clean' machine. This
would also allow me to work on multiple operating systems, such as vista
and XP. Is there another way to achieve the same thing ?

I just 'snapshot' my first program, and twice in a row while processing
after the install (2nd snap shot) it has crashed. However I have pushed
on past that with multistep option and running the second snapshot again
after a reboot. Now, I can also confirm that I can't exclude files, the
option is greyed out.

I assume the installation monitoring would be more efficient and not
capture all these useless files, but without the ability to edit the
package... I would say this version is just about useless. Can anybody
lead me to believe the contrary ? Because I would actually like to see
this work.

Any news on this?

We have ZDM7 and AdminStudio7.5 running at the moment, and new version
of AdminStudio was requested. What can we do?

I have media for adminstudio 8 and 8.5, but how to get the serial?

Got the serial for 9.0, but it seems to have options missing and doesn't
work without ZCM?

To give an example as to why the software does not serve its function, I
tried to build (create an output msi file) the project and I got 111
errors. All the errors were due to missing files like this....

a. k. a. zenworks log files and temp files from other agents. But I
can't edit the package and the files don't exist, so the package fails.

I don't quite follow this!

I expected the TID to show how to activate 8.5, especially given Shaun
shows an alternative approach for the OP who had already installed v9.
However, as I read it the TID just recommends downloading V9 and using
the V9 key

Someone suggests that that results in less features than 8.5 so my
question is, how do we just activate 8.5?

I'm half expecting to be told I'm just reading this wrong.

I've only just looked in here today, having been away from ZCM for some
time.

I cannot believe how incredibly WRONG Novell seems to have got this. I
mean, 6 to 7 weeks with no resolution? Holy Cow! That's shoddy customer
service, to put it mildly. Plain and simple.

I'm trying to persuade my clients to go with ZCM and Novell, and Novell
seem to be doing their darndest to scare everyone off.

Mind you, even the 8.5 Adminstudio bundled with ZCM was pretty useless;
the guys over at Acresso were very upfront that it was a teaser meant to
entice you to use the real thing.

Just my 2c...

I just installed AdminStudio 9 and applied the Zenworks 9 serial number
to it.

Installation Monitoring is an unavailable feature.
Snapshot is available but nothing in the snapshot can be excluded or
included
I haven't tried remote repackaging yet but I fear it too will be an
unavailable feature, as mentioned previously in this thread.
Everytime I open or close an AdminStudio program (i.e. Tuner or
Repackager) I get prompted to login to ZCM.

The constant login prompts are incredibly annoying.
The lack of features has made this AdminStudio 9 Zenworks Edition
completely useless.

It is definitely NOT good enough.

Shawn,

I installed AdminStudio 9 Zenworks Edition on a workstation that is
running the ZCM agent 10.1.1. I can't login to my zen1 server. It
gives me a message Login Failed. I can login to ZCM via the web using
the credentials but the credentials do not work within the AdminStudio 9
Zenworks Edition login prompt.

I found the tip below in the readme file for ZCM 10.1:

2.1.13 AdminStudio ZENworks Edition requires the Primary Server to be
using ports 80 and 443
During product installation, you have the option to select ports other
than the defaults of 80 and 443, but AdminStudio requires the Primary
Server to use ports 80 and 443.

Workaround: None. To use AdminStudio, you must install it on a Primary
Server that is using ports 80 and 443.

Am I to install the AdminStudio ZENworks Edition program on the ZCM
server?

Please advise.

Thanks

Pam

Well somehow my AdminStudio 8 got buggered, so I decided to install
AdminStudio 9 as per the TID 7001301. I am still using ZDM 7, so I hope
I'm still permitted to use AS 9... I do own a lisense for ZCM 10
however, it's not in my environment at present.

The registration process at Acresso's site however seems to fail, red
text, but no explanation given as to why. Is anyone else experiencing a
registration error?

The registration page is entitled: AdminStudio ZENworks 10 Edition
Serial Number Registration. Are ZDM 7 users still permitted to use AS9,

as per the TID suggests?

I previously registered myself with AdminStudio 8 key before
registration at Acresso shut down. Does this have anything to do with
my failure to register AdminStudio 9? Is my lisence considered used up,
so I'm stuck with AdminStudio 8?
