I have been trying to figure out what is causing this problem but, no
luck yet.
After the install of zen7sp1.
As soon as sloader.ncf is ran JSOCK6X.NLM starts consuming memory until
the box dies.
I can run all other processes for discovery and have no problems. There
are no abends just kills the box from consuming all the memory.
I have tried following the ncf's around to see what they are loading
but, Im not to sure what exactly im looking for. I have seen other
threads on JSOCK6X.NLM causing abends but nothing related to what Im
seeing here.

I have the agents on all other servers but, only one server runs the
discovery and atlas processes. This is the only server that has the
issue.

Do you have other servers that run ok?

I see a bug as beeing opened against this, it's supposedly fixed. Although
the patch isn't out yet.

When this happens, do you see a lot of sockets open.. Time wait?

There are a ton of open network sockets from all the servers and
workstations that are being scanned. Im not sure it thats is what your
asking.

Where do I check for open sockets?

Look for sockets that are in a timewait state.

It has been running for a while now but, there are only 10 or so
timewait connections. This may change as the memory is consumed so I
will continue to watch it.

Ok. If it happens again, could you grab a seg stats and a config.
load config /all (Generates sys:\system\config.txt)

I have read this thread with interest, I am running a nw65sp6 zfs701
server and see jsock6x consuming memory, at the moment the seg.nlm shows
%delta for jsock6x is 9047.47% and increasing. I reboot the server
about once/week.

Are you running all pieces of ZFS on this server?
Is it the site server?
Is it a distribution srever?

this server is the mms, and is a distribution server, although I only
use it to gather inventory data. I don't push policies/patches with it.

I know there are some issues with winsock right now. I wonder if it is
also affecting this.

Can you open a SR?

Seg is showing similar numbers as lance stated.. The delta % just goes
through the roof as it consumes all the memory it can.

just going to move the management and monitoring to a windows box or a
linux box.

I inadvertantly blew up the jvm on my box and decided to start from
scratch. The box hasn't been up long enough to really show the memory
usage yet.
