OS: NW65SP6
Zen: 4.01 IR7
Server: Dual Xeon 5120, 2Gb RAM, SATA-Raid
After a few weeks of inpackable operation, Imaging some 30
workstations, some up to 4 times, there was a problem:
On PXE-boot, DHCP goes OK but on the TFTP line, there appear strange
characters and the message
"Illegal TFTP Operation".
After some studie, I started suspecting the Winsock modules. There are
several threads about the NW65SP6 Winsock modules.
So I put the NW65SP5 Winsock NLM in C:\NWSERVER and rebooted. Seems
fine at first, but the first image I took from a workstation, almost
froze the server. Luckily the imaging took long enough to have a peek
at the busiest threads. These where
DNSThreadTaskMgr0
- and -
DNSThreadTaskMgr1
These threads belong to Named (surprise).
Should I backrev NAMED.NLM (and DHCPSRVR.NLM) as wel?
Any suggestions?
There is no one at thom...@xs4all.nl
Meanwhile, I back-revved NAMED.NLM, DHCPSRVR.NLM and there .MSG files.
This seems to work allright so far. At the moment I'm taking an image
and total CPU-0 load is 2 - 8%.
