Remote with ZenBrowser

Since upgrading to Zen4b, it does not appear that I can't always remote
control using Zenbrowser 4. I was always successful using this tool with
Zen 3.2. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

I am using 4.9 client, netware 5 sp7. I don't know if this is a client
problem or a Zenbrowser problem. I know it is not a rights issue since I
can remote control with Console One.

ultimately, the zenwsbrowser just calls the same programs as C1 - what
errors do you get?

No errors, just no remote control. It appears to try and then nothing.
Could this be a Java problem?

check the rmerrlog*.txt files from C:\Program
Files\Novell\ZENworks\RemoteManagement\RMAgent on the destination
machine, and the C1 directory on the launching machine...

I am also having the same issue with ZenBrowser after I upgraded to ZFD
4.0.1. It worked fine under ZFD 3.2 SP2. I can't remember if it stopped
working when I upgraded to 4.0.1 or if it happened when I applied the
zfd4sp1bservrp2 patch. At the advice of a Novell ASE, I have applied IR4
to my server and workstations. That did not help resolve this problem,
but it resolved others. I am running NW 5.1 w/ SP6 and client 4.83 SP2.

I think the issue is with the Desktop4.exe or it's associated files. I
tried to run it in a command line and does not work either. I have
download the latest desktop.zip without any luck. I tried another
utility, RCU, and it fails to work even though it worked under ZFD 3.2.

I have RM error log files with numerous lines listed as Critical. There
is so much information in these logs that I don't know what it all means.
I could email them in to someone if that would help.

I don't want to roll out ConsoleOne to our helpdesk, but I might have to
because ConsoleOne seems to work everytime.

you need a different version of zenwsbrowser for zfd4...

I am using the latest version for ZFD4. I do have an open service request
#1051723722, but we haven't gotten anywhere yet. Running Desktop4 in a
command line with the switches fails too. I was hoping you had some
additional information that could steer us in the right direction.

Actually I don't get an error message. I get a small dialog box. The
title bar is Desktop Management. The message is "Processing the request.
Please Wait..." It will eventually time out after a minute or two. Then
the message is "Unable to Start Desktop management components." If I
start up ConsoleOne (1.3.5) I can connect to the target workstation.

I don't see the original of this thread anymore, but if that is a bug with
ZenBrowser you could only ask the programmer if he can fix that
