See the pre-requisites for this patch - you must have ZDM7SP1 installed
first

Jdwall,

no, you were correct, the Support pack 1 there *is* for netware, but those are the pre-requisites for installing ZDM7SP1. The readme for ZDM7SP1IR4 says "System Requirements:

ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 Interim Release 4 (ZDM 7 SP1 IR4) requires ZENworks 7 Desktop Management with Support Pack 1 or later."

and I know that, because I wrote it :)

Now he can get to work on installing SP1_IR4_HP1 :)

Patrick,

only if he is experiencing any of the issues described in TID 3484245
:) I really should do something about that TID, it's far too big -
would it be useful if I split it, like I've done for the ZCM 10
updates?

Well I would assume that anyone on IR3a or IR4 would be having the issue
in 7003836. I also had the issue in 3908106, but that was not a show
stopper the way the dword issue was.

I guess I'd have to see what a split TID looked like to know what you
mean there? I think the TID is just fine personally. Are you referring
to the inclusion of all the previous patch fixes? I like having those
in there as well. If I was going to jump from IR1 to IR4 HP1, it's nice
to be able to see all of the cumulative fixes without having to find the
documentation for IR2, IR3, 3a, and 4.

That's just as long if you ask me. You linked to the documents and then
listed the fixes anyway below them?

I dunno, either is fine I guess.

Patrick,

yeah, that way it's easier to go to just the version you're interested
in, is that something worthwhile? In any case I will need to redo the
ZDM7 one at some point because the formatting's all $%^&ed in places,
so an hour or so with copy paste and an html editor is calling me... :)

If an update comes out for HP1, can I name it ZDM7SP1IR4HP1WTF1 ?

Patrick,

don't get me stated on those crazy names... if we'd known how it was
going to end up, we'd never have done it this way... remember that hot
patches used to only be available if you raised a SR...

Cpeters12,

I create the CPKs, so I'm interested - the hp-install key is a "flag"
value which I use to indicate that the package has matched one of the
registry checks (there's no "or" in the settings, so I have to have a
separate check for every one of the possible values). Is there an error
in the log that shows what it fails to do?

Cpeters12,

if you can send your logs to spond at novell dot com then I can take a
look - although the logging in CPKs is very limited, it might be
possible for me to add something, which might help troubleshoot in the
future
