Craig,

nor do I - I am sure there was a RFE for this at one point, but given
the status of ZDM7, it's not likely to happen

Hex Editors are like "Text Editors" for Executables.

Often the "Text" Displayed by programs is found in clear text in the
compiled program and tweaked.

Of course, this is dangerous and may break the program.

It was not a Serious Recommendation.

There are also "Resource Editors" that give you a less dangerous way to
change stuff like that.

Novell has a new enhancement request system,
or what is now known as the requirement portal.
If customers would like to give input in the upcoming
releases of Novell products then they should go to
http://www.novell.com/rms

Shaun Pond,

It will certainly make the software unsupported, but any software
vendor would have a hard time making a case against anyone doing such
modifications in legally licensed software, unless the object of the
modification is to break licensing rules.

Thus, I would argue against using a resource editor because a vendor
may refuse support, but as long as you are aware of that, then I see no
problems.
