We have several issues with our workstations using the ZEN Management
Agent. The problems are strange, they are totally random.
1. DLU fails
2. Icons do not appear
3. Policies do not get applied
4. Lose remote control and other remote features

I've read that some people have problems pushing out prints to
workstations, that however is soemthing that does work for us but the key
is that you have to restart the workstation usually just once before the
printers appear.

Thanks,

These issues are really too diverse and too litle info to help provide too
many answers....

1) DLU Failing? Does a simple reboot fix the issue? Does it effect some
users on a particular machine but not others? Do you need to reinstall the
Client?
2) Icon's Fail to appear? See questions above. Did you verify the user is
actually authenticated to NDS and did not do a local login? Are all icons
or only some missing? Are user or workstation associated icons missing?
3) User or Workstation Policies? Both? No policies are applied or only
parts of the policy? Have you checked for effective policies? Have you
enabled policy logging?
4) Have you verified the workstation object has an up to date Workstation
Registration time? If it's outdated it may indicate an issue with the
workstation object.

OK sorry for lack of info, hope this helps:
1) DLU Failing- More often than not a reboot does not help. It effects
ever user, but this does not happen on every machine, we have several
models of Dell PC's and this randomly happens... but it does effect every
user who has not previously logged in to the machine before. Clearing
the NALCache folder on the C drive helps sometimes as does a reinstall of
the ZFD Agent.

2) Icons fail to appear- Sometimes reboot helps, not most of the time
however. No ZEN icons appear at all, local icons are there. The user is
logging into NW not just locally. Again, clearing the
NALCache/reinstalling the ZFD agent fixes the issue.

3) Policies- It is only the user policy effected. Again this does not
happen to every PC. Only parts of the policy get applied, it is
completely random as to which parts or machines effected. Have checked
policies to make sure associations are correct. Can you tell me more
about policy logging?

4) WSReg- Have not checked dates, however reinstalling ZFD Agent fixes
problem, clearing the NALCache will not (was told it worked for another
local school having same issues)

Thank you very much

OK. Then wy ask in the 6.5 specific forum? ;)
