Quick question about a workstation import policy we have setup. It's
currently working, however I'm concerned about the timing. Sometimes
when we delete a workstation, then log back in it creates quickly.
I've noticed a few times when a workstation is deleted, it'll take
hours before it's created. I'm unsure of what's causing this or if
there's a fix, the policy is set to create the workstation on system
startup......are there some settings I can change to speed this up, or
can someone tell me why it's lagging sometimes?

A little more info on this.......I've found that it's working after 3
successful logins. Under the policy, limits, User login number is 3,
Number of times user logs in before creating a workstation if policy
needs user information.

Can this be changed to 1 so it creates it on the 1st successful login,
or is there a method to the madness?

Yes, this can be changed but the value is set to "3" so that it imports
based upon a common user of that PC.
If you set it to "1" then it may import based upon the ID of a tech setting
up the PC instead of the regular uesr.

If the workstation import policy was defined to be independent of the user
object for determining the name and location of the workstation object it
will import the first time regardless of this setting.

ah ok, that makes sense, we'll just be sure to login 3 times as an
actual user in that context to register it correctly. Thanks for the
help.
