So that the site remains secure. Novell recommends a different tree in
the DMZ but not 100% about tree structure and/or authentication between
trees.

uiui..

who did that?

to clarify..

the MT will be used by the agent to talk to edir.. which contains ALL the
zenworks information you have...

so a tree in the DMZ would need the same info as the tree outside the dmz..

IMHO it would be better just to open specific ports between between the MT
and the server inside your normal network which hosts edir.. also note that
the MT will require UNC access to the sources of the software you want to
install..
