Hello,

I am not certain if I am posting to the correct forum, and if not, my
apologies.

I've been using SuSE linux since version 7.1. I had no problems on my old
tower machine (P4). I've switched machines and now use an IBM, as decribed
below.

I installed 10.1 (boxed) however, within hours it freezes up and I have to
do a hard boot. I've tried 10 Enterprise Desktop, and the latest version
of Redhat as comparables. They both freeze too. I've used 9.1 on it too,
and it freezes after a few hours.

The machine is an IBM Thinkcentre S50 8086-36U ultra small form factor PC
connected to shared USB mouse and keyboard via a KVM switch. It is shared
with another S50. Both computers connect to a standard high speed modem
which connects up to the telephone jack. I've connected a PS2 mouse but it
too gets locked up.

Have anyone any thougths on how I can better diagnose and solve this
problem? I do not want to return to Windows.

Many thanks,

Mark Heseltine

Dear Bot,

How to respond but to say I hope you are not too sternly admonished. Ever
since I was a child I found robots always being taking the brunt of
people's anger. Never recognised for all their great work. I recommend that
you watch the film a Space Odyssey. You might learn something. ;)

I recognised my query drew no response so I have reposted on the openSuse
forum where I have received some kind responses.

Many thanks, Bot.

Mark
