Hello, everyone,

I just installed SuSE 10.1 on an HP NC6220 laptop. Works great, except for
the X Server on the HP Docking Station's external monitor. For some
unknown reason, the large HP LP2065 external monitor goes to sleep right
after the startup routine. X shows up on the laptop's screen only.

If I hit Ctrl-Alt-F6, X works on both monitors, but as soon as I return to
my X-session by hitting Ctrl-Alt-F7, X again disappears from the external
screen and only works on the laptop screen.

I searched the Internet for a solution, but came up with nothing. I would
appreciate any help. THANKS!

questions for opensuse are better asked in the opensuse forums..

questions for SLES / SLED 10 are better asked in the suse linux enterprise
forums

How do you arrive at the conclusion that I installed either OpenSuSE or
SLES/SLED? Anyway, I mean, of course, Novell/SuSE Linux 10.1, the one
distribution for which I paid good cash and the same one that has not
answered a single one of my support questions so far.

So, Marcus, do you have an answer for my inquiry?

because we have similar posts all the time... people are confused in which
forum to post..

these forums for example are for the OLD suse linux standard server which
is based on a suse 9.x version.

suse 10.x can be several things.

opensuse 10.x which has come from the old suse 9.x professional / personal
track.. so that is the community edition so to speak.. you can buy the
media but you can also just download it..

suse enterprise linux server and desktop which is based on opensuse 10.1
code..

as you can see quite complicated.. so I would guess you bought the SuSE
Linux 10.1 which is being called nowadays opensuse (should have been around
80 US $).. in this case the best forum to ask a question are one of the
opensuse.org.suse-linux.support forums
