YaST2 takes awhile on Suse 10.1

I'm running OpenSuse 10.1-remastered on an older machine, PIII-600mhz
w/256Mb Memory, 27Gig UDMA/33 HD. Internet connection is Highspeed
DSL.
I was wondering if it was just the speed of the machine or if YaST2
takes along time when importing catalogs from repositories and
checking for updates. I added 2 repositories today. It took about 5
minutes to import the catalog and 20 minutes or so when I closed the
repository window.
